Dreams
I forgot an older one. I have like 6 journals. So...this is from my dream journal. That's right, you get those, too. Notes written at the time of the dream are in italics.
March 22, 1999 - Monday
We were all at Homecoming. Nobody in our group had a date. It was the last dance, so I asked Chris to dance because he didn't have a date either. But he said that Elisa already asked him, otherwise he'd love to. So he took me over to where Ben was and asked him if he would dance with me. (I think this is weird because I don't think they even talk to each other.) So me and Ben danced, then, after that, we went to see a movie. It was so fun! It was like we were best friends. Then he took me home.
That dream was weird because I don't even like Ben at all. Andrea, Lisa, and Sheila do. -
S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y Night!
Delve with me into the mind of a 14-year-old girl. This was the oldest journal entry I could find in my written journals. You know what it's about? Boys. Yep. Boy type high school drama-ish stuff. I...yeah. Working with high school kids again this summer made me realize how much stuff like this is just...life. Every. Day. And. Wow. Wow I'm glad I'm not in high school anymore.
June 12, 1999 - Saturday
I still like Chris, but not as much as before because I know that he does not like me. We can talk to each other and I am not afraid to call him like Erin was, but we have about nothing in common. All of my friends are saying he is conceited and thinks every girl is in love with him, but they still should not say things about him like that if they aren't sure. Emmy and Lisa used to like him a lot and now Emmy asked me why I even like him. So now they are making me think that I do not like him anymore. Even though Peter flirts a lot and makes fun of blondes at least he will talk to me. Most of the time the only way I talk to Chris is if I say something first. And, at the Special Olympics, it seemed like Mike liked me because he was flirting with me a lot and we talked about a bunch of stuff and I found out that we had a lot in common. Like we can both write with both hands. But I could not just start to like Mike because I already knew that Emmy liked him. And last Wednesday, Emmy asked me if I liked him because her mom and sister said they even thought he liked me and I said that he was nice, but I did not like him like that. Even if we did both like each other I would not want to hurt mine and Emmy's friendship. I still only really like Chris, but my only friend that is not against him is Chrissy.

beer. bread.
I was tired and part of my didn't want to go to dance class, partly, I'm sure, because I hadn't been in so long. I'd forgotten how much I love that class. The first hour is the beginner class and then the next 1.5-2 hours is intermediate. Dance for 2.5-3 hours straight. You'll get tired.
The first class was pretty much amazing. A lot of focus on frame and really doing things correctly. The next class moved a lot more quickly, which is needed for an intermediate class, but since we rotate and dance with every lead, it's easy to tell that not everyone gets it completely. Then again, the point of the class is to introduce something so it can then be practiced and perfected.
I think I finally figured out how to fix my one frame/posture/positioning thing that comes up sometimes with lindy. And it was when I was dancing with a girl lead that I figured it out. It's been pointed out to me before. I know that I sometimes don't come in squared up with the lead, but for whatever reason, my mind couldn't register that until it was said that sometimes it was difficult to reach around me, especially since she's a little shorter than me. And so then I knew what the issue was and how to remind myself to work on it. Hopefully it's gone soon. Left shoulder. That's the troublesome one. I've been told my frame is improving though. yay.
We even went to Pizzza Shuttle after class with everyone. E and I shared cheese ravioli...and then some cake batter ice cream. It was just plain old good times there. And...on an even happier note, I believe that I've completely made it to the friendship stage with...Boy #3 I think it was. I forget what the numbers are. This is from way back in Feb/March so...yeah. I think continually going to his dance class has helped that. Not saying we'll be best friends or anything, but it wasn't that casual required politeness feeling anymore. Genuine friendliness. Woot. But last night was just great. Fun conversations. Talking about Amazing Race. And beer bread. Which I made this morning.
I should probably get going soon. Need to get off to work-ish. I think that's what I'll call it now. It is work, basically. I'll probably be there until after 6:00 tonight though and I'm not sure I have all that much work to do to fill that much time, so I'm debating waiting to come in until lunchtime. I have to let the bread cool a little more before I wrap it up cos I'm bringing a loaf to the transition meeting tonight. mm...beer bread. I've only made it from those mix/packet things you buy and then just add a can of beer to, mix and bake. Never realized how simple it is. Really. 3c flour. 1/4c sugar. 3t baking powder. 1t salt. Can of beer. Pan. Pour melted butter on top. Bake. Done. I like this kind of bread.
Anyways, I'm rambling now. Maybe I should work on putting some more of my clothes away.
EDIT:
I just looked up to see what kind of ice cream Pizza Shuttle had and learned...THEY DELIVER ICE CREAM! Do you know how many times I've been sitting around and thought to myself that places should deliver ice cream? A lot. A whole lot. Dang. Not sure I'll ever order it (I don't know their radius limitations), but that makes me really happy.

Ziggy Stardust
So...I don't normally fall into the trappings of "wear as little clothing on halloween as you can get away with because...it's halloween." However, my costume this year did consist of less clothing than normal. I justify this by the fact that I was dressed up as a man.
Be excited because here will, of course, where I first post my halloween pictures. Well, probably just a picture. There are only 2-3 total. I really didn't do much. I went trick-or-treating...and then we came back and went to sleep. Funny how I went to bed at the time most of the adult activities for the evening begin. I did think about dancing....but I was really tired...and my back hurt from walking many blocks for a couple hours in really tall heels. I hadn't worn heels in a long time, let alone 3-4" ones. Not that I would have been dancing in those I guess.
The wig is unfortunately not quite the right color, but it's the closest I could find in the 5 minutes I spent in the halloween store. I made the costume Saturday afternoon. Literally went in and right out of the costume store (the cash only line is SO much faster) and came back to put everything together.
This will probably be a costume for keeping. Who knows when one-legged pants could be needed?
Oh. And I was recognized while we were out trick-or-treating...even though I had a coat on. My legs were fine, but no way could I have been out in 40-45 degree weather without a coat. COLD!
